I graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Calgary with a Bachelors of Science in Ecology in 2014. Throughout my science degree, I participated in laboratory research, co-authored a publication in a scientific journal, developed and conducted a statistical and pedagogical independent study on student's quantitative skills in biology, peer mentored two ecology courses, presented in a nationwide teaching and learning conference, participated in various aspects of field research, honed my leadership skills as the President of the Biology Student's Association, and deepened my passion for biology and learning.
I completed my Bachelors of Education degree in Fall 2015. Throughout my degree, I taught grade 4 at Barons Elementary, Science 24 and Chemistry 20 at Cardston High School, and Science 10 as well as a cross-curricular Social and Science class as Robert Thirsk High School.
I have coached baseball for children with disabilities through Challenger Little League, worked as a day camp leader at Butterfield Acres Farm Camp, tutored students in math and science, as well as developed a wonderful lifelong friendship as a mentor for a young woman who has been placed on and off the autism scale since she was a little girl.
I absolutely love playing trombone and singing, though I'm not very good at doing both at the same time. I find joy in bird watching, bug catching, and getting muddy. I am passionate, honest, and energetic.
I am Jodie.
